Dr. Ameya Katariya is an India & Australia trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a super specialization in Robotic Hip & Knee Joint Replacement surgeries. Dr. Katariya completed his Orthopaedic Specialist training at Govt. Medical College, Aurangabad and secured an All India Rank - 2 to pursue additional two years training in Orthopaedics at the prestigious P. D. Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. Having completed his Orthopaedic training in India with a national gold medal, Dr. Katariya was selected to pursue Fellowship training in Advanced Hip and knee Joint Replacement at South Indian Arthroplasty Academy (SIAA) for 2 years. During this Fellowship He worked at some of the best and most prestigious institutes in India like Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore and Sunshine Hospital, Hyderabad. To continue his passion for education in Hip and knee surgery, he undertook another Fellowship in Sydney, Australia for a year to acquire the latest skills and techniques in Direct Anterior Minimally Invasive Hip Replacement, Robotic Total and Partial Knee Replacement Surgeries. In Australia he worked with renowned surgeon A/Prof Rami Sorial (Chairman APAS), Dr Simon Coffey and A/Prof James Sullivan.

He is currently one of a small number of practising surgeons in India performing Direct Anterior minimally invasive approach to Total Hip Replacement surgery and Partial Knee Replacement which offers patients less scaring, accelerated rehabilitation and recovery, less post-operative pain and no functional restrictions in the post-operative period. Dr. Katariya is a believer in the use of modern technology in the field of Total Knee Replacement surgery. Robotic arm assisted surgery is an exciting technological advancement which he has adopted to achieve the best possible outcome for patients undergoing Total and Partial Knee Replacement surgery. Dr Katariya is among a very few Indian surgeons who are formally trained in this advance technology and are certified to use it. Despite his surgical expertise, Dr Katariya believes that surgery is not always the answer. He prioritises lifestyle modification, minimum use of medication and natural healing. He advises surgery only when it provides clear and evidence backed long term benefit to the patient. His practise emphasises Ethics, compassion, communication and patient first approach. Dr Katariya works at several reputed hospitals in Pune and provides comprehensive orthopaedic care for Hip and knee arthritis, shoulder pain, ligament tear, meniscus tear, neck and back pain, spine problems and bone fractures.
